Multiplication Anyone?

Acts 6:3 Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business;but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word." And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch, 6 whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them. Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith".

I was once in contact with a Pastor who started a new Church in our neighborhood. It was a seeker friendly church that desired to cater to the “modern” generation. The music was not only in bad taste but also just of course without any anointing just to attract numbers.

Soon the older members of the congregation began to leave and this young Pastor asked me what the reason could be, I gently told him that the answer lay in the Book of Acts.

If we look really hard into the Book of Acts we see great faith woven with great intercession. They had a purity of heart and mind, in seeking the purposes of God, rather than the accolades of men.

Let us revert back to the old and infallible formula of a wise God. Instead of printing hundreds of brochures and spending thousands on billboards let us the formula of the Ancient of Days. Prayer + word + obedience = multiplication of believers.

God is the best math teacher but we have to follow His formula to get the correct answers. Working it His way will affect eternity and the souls of men in a positive manner.

Come let us pray, obey and let us seek to multiply His Kingdom in the way the King intended to.
